Justin Slaughter – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Justin Slaughter is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Australian Rural Exports Pty Ltd (AUSTREX). AUSTREX, established in 1973, is a leading Australian livestock export company based in Brisbane, Queensland. Justin has over 21 year’s experience in developing global markets for Australian livestock and agricultural products and is a Board member of the Australian Livestock Exporters’ Council (ALEC) and a member of the Queensland Livestock Exporters Association (QLEA).
Dr Richard Trivett – Company Chairman
Richard studied Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland and worked in private practice until he oversaw the development of AUSTREX into the global livestock export company it is today. Richard is a member and Chairman of the Livestock Export Research and Development Committee (LERDAC). Richard also chairs the Australian Rural Export Animal Welfare committee.
James Leftwich – General Manager AUSTREX Uruguay
James has formal qualifications in agricultural business and a Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics. James has over 16 years’ experience in the Meat & Livestock industry globally and has undertaken numerous Livestock assignments in Asia, Middle East and South America including an extended period living in Uruguay. James is currently a member of the Northern Territory Livestock Exporters Association Executive Committee.
Jake Morse – Director
Jake has more than 12 years’ experience in the Live Export Trade of livestock globally, ranging from Operational Management to International Sales and Marketing. Currently Jake is the Director of Global Feeder and Slaughter cattle.
Jake holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agriculture – majoring in Beef Marketing.
Andrew Morgan – Director
Andrew Morgan is a Director of AUSTREX and Managing Director of Catapult Partners, a boutique corporate advisory firm.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce, and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, Directors Diploma – Australian Institute of Company Directors and he is a Solicitor of the Supreme Courts of Queensland and New South Wales.
Damian Bryce – Finance Director
Damian holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia. Damian is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Damian worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Brisbane and London and has most recently spent 7 years as Chief Financial Officer of Olam Australia.
